Moved!

So - the new blogsite is live today! I still have to upload galleries but I wanted to get the change made. My logo is different, and I like the combo of website and blog in one place. So going forward all new blog posts will be at http://kellyfosterphotography.com! And some of my former session peeks from this blog will migrate over there as well very soon. :-)

I Heart Faces - Smiles Challenge Entry - UPDATE

Kelly Foster 2009
This is the first time I've entered an iheartfaces challenge, but I just had the perfect picture for it. The theme of the week is "Smiles," and immediately this image came to mind. This cutie is Isaac, and I have had the pleasure of documenting his first year of life. He was 4 months old here. This is one of my favorite images of Isaac ever. I hope you enjoy it!
UPDATE 5/1/10: I get to add a button to this post. :-) I Heart Faces Favorite

Long Time, No Post

Yep, I know I've been MIA on this blog! I'm excited to say that I'm putting the finishing touches on my new "blogsite." I'm rolling the blog and the site into one! I've hesitated to put any new posts up here because I've already migrated the contents of this blog to the new one. Stay tuned! Excited to know that I may be teaming up with another local photog (and fellow BHS alumni) in the near future after just discovering she's shooting too! :-) Or maybe a swap during this gorgeous spring weather that's starting.

I've also decided that I am going to focus on and specialize in HS senior photography. Of course I will still do everything else, but I have found a love for senior photography that I want to grow and expand. So lots of fun developments on their way for sure!

Back In the Saddle!

OK, so coming this evening are some faves of the session I did for Brooke and Michael, dear friends of ours. My husband went to HS with them. The session was mostly of their new baby boy, but big bro also sat in for a few shots. The boys are adorable, and I had a blast. I love that I'm getting to watch them grow up!

Also, my newest session of cutie pie Isaac is next Saturday. Stay tuned for that one coming soon!

Can I tell you how completely refreshed I am, and how pumped I am about shooting again?! Now let's just get rid of all of this snow and start seeing signs of spring!

Owens Family Session

So I promised another look at the swap session, and here it finally is! Tricia, Ken, Elvis, and Wrigley were so much fun to photograph. The bright colors of the clothing they chose (courtesy of Old Navy) really complimented my high-saturation style. Yes, I LOVE color! I had such a great time, and we have to do this again next year. Thanks so much for swapping with me, and I'm glad to have a photog buddy. :-)

Christmas Deadline Is Fast Approaching!

Just a friendly reminder that all orders being placed for Christmas gifts, etc. need to be in and paid for by December 11th. This gives lead time to get them back for you for Christmas. I am hard at work on my last couple of open sessions, so if you're waiting for a proofing gallery, it'll be up within the next day or two!

As far as sessions for the remainder of the year. . . I realize that the weather has turned cold on us, halting outdoor sessions. I am taking a "family time" break for the holiday season, at least until February. At that point, though it's chilly and maybe snowy, I will schedule outdoor "snow sessions," and I also make housecalls. :-) Keep in mind that your own living space can be the perfect backdrop for true to life family portraits. It's the epitome of lifestyle photography.

Thank you for all of your support in 2009, and Happy Holidays to everyone!

So Much to Be Thankful For

I have a loving husband who is my best friend. I have two darling children who love me unconditionally even on my worst days with them. We have a home, food, clothing, and anything else above those essentials is just a blessing. We have fantastic wonderful dear friends. I have wonderful clients who are putting their trust in me to produce beautiful images of their families. These clients and my family are enabling me to grow my business into (hopefully) a career. My family has been so wonderful throughout this growing process. Since I work full time, all of my photography work is done in the evenings and on weekends (and lunches at work). This takes away from my already limited time with my husband and children, and I know it has been difficult and stressful on all of us in this house. They have been incredibly patient with me and understanding of this passion of mine which I have thrown myself into. My wonderful hubby, my best friend, has stepped up and helped me out and supported me, no matter how hard it is. Mason has stopped trying to plop his butt down on my laptop for the most part. :-) Kaylie has been a willing model and has helped so much with her brother. She's quite grown up for seven. I keep telling them it will all be worth it in the end. I'm not sure they're as sure as I am, but they continue to be my biggest support, my biggest fans. I truly am a lucky woman.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Sneak Peek for Sam - {Indianapolis Children's Photographer}

I had the pleasure of photographing Mr. Isaac this past Saturday. Even though he was clearly not up for much of it, he was a trooper and I got some gorgeous shots. It's been fun to see how much he changes every three months. I also had the pleasure of meeting Sam's parents and sister, and they were a blast to work with. Enjoy!

We've Been Blogged!

Check out our sneak peek here! Tricia came to Brownsburg today to do a session for us. Too long since we had family pictures, and I think she did a fantastic job! Mason was difficult of course, but I know she still got good ones out of him. I am so thrilled! I'll be posting more from their session soon. Thank you so much, Tricia! We had a blast!

Birthday Girl

I just have to post this - can't believe we have a 7 year old girl now. I almost typed "little girl," but she's not really little anymore, is she? Her birthday was Friday, and she had a sleepover last night where they spent most of their time playing the HSM3 dance game on XBox 360. :-) Happy Birthday, baby girl.

Photographer Swap!

So a little while ago, I returned from a session with Tricia of Tricia Owens Photography. We are doing a session swap, so I got to take shots of her, her hubby Ken, and their adorable pooches Elvis and Wrigley. :-) Elvis is an old man and was not having the whole thing, but we got the shots. I am so excited for her to do our family's session next Saturday!! It was so great to meet you and your family, Tricia! Here's just a little sneak peek!

Sneak Peek - Brownsburg Senior Photography

Wow. Wow. Wow. I felt old as soon as she got out of her car. What a total sweetheart, and gorgeous to boot. She is a natural in front of the camera. I have no idea how any photographer could churn out a bad picture of her! Here is a sneak peek of some of my favorites from her session so far. I hope you enjoy them, Kasi! I cannot believe it is the Class of '10 already. Sheesh.

Sneak Peek - Indianapolis Children's Photographer

I am so excited to finally post my two sneak peeks. I miss my internet at home. Hopefully, I will have my new modem and have it up and running in the next couple of days. Until then, I have to use other resources. This session was so much fun. Lane's mommy and I went to jr. high and high school together. Our pregnancies even overlapped a bit when I was carrying Mason, and Lane was almost a Mason. :-) Lane was true to his age and not real into having his pictures taken, but I got plenty of good ones out of him. He's adorable and a sweetheart. Enjoy!

Sneak Peek - Redhead Alert!

Being a redhead myself (and having 2 little redheads), I have a special place in my heart for copper locks and freckles. :-) In photographing Carter this past weekend, I discovered that they are really awesome to photograph in the fall! We went to Blast-Off (Williams Park) and let him play - which was both good and bad for trying to get portraits. But he was really great and so much fun. Here's a sneak peek! Oh, and check OUT those blue eyes!

Something Different

I typically post only sneak-peeks from my sessions on this blog these days, but I got in a great session with some important people in my life yesterday. . . . my family. We took a trip to Beasley's Orchard to get our pumpkins, and we went with our best friends, the Odums. Beasley's is so great - we love it there. It's an annual tradition. We took a hay ride back to the pumpkin patch, and after that we spent some time (and money) in the Market. We bought apple butter, carmel corn pops, fudge, and I think our friends bought cider too. The place is wonderful. Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures I took during our trip. Of course, the one thing about being the photographer is that I am never in pictures. But that's OK! I hope you enjoy these! *The boy in the Spiderman hat is my best friend's little boy, Finn, who you have seen before on this blog if you're a long-time reader.

"E" Family - Sneak Peek!

This little boy is so much like my son. He gave me quite a challenge! His sister was a perfect little model. They both have such gorgeous blue eyes! We had a blast with this fall session at Arbuckle Acres. Enjoy the peek!

MIA

Hi everyone! So I'm finally recovering - again - after another illness. 3 weeks and counting. Thought I was better at the beginning of this past week, and then BAM! The flu. I have never been so sick in my life as I have been the past two weeks. To all of my clients patiently waiting for me, I appreciate it. I'm in full force mode to get everything to you, I promise. I'm still weak but can actually look at a computer for lengths of time now without feeling burning stabbing pain. No H1N1 fortunately!!!! Just the good ol' flu. This is what happens when people come to work when they're sick. And it's that time of year! So for the sake of everyone, if you get sick, please do not share it with the rest of your coworkers! Thanks! :)

More good stuff to come from me soon! October is just about booked up for me already! Website hopefully will come this week, but my clients come first. Stay tuned!

Kelly :)

Long Week

Hi everyone! Well, after almost 1.5 weeks of being out of commission, I am well and about to start posting again. I have been battling a nasty case of bronchitis. I have more wedding pics to post of Mr. and Mrs. Martin, as well as some from a few other sessions. I'm playing catch-up. A couple of new things for me - In my menu bar you'll now see "On Facebook" - that's right, Kelly Foster Designs Photography now has a fan page! Click through to become a fan or scroll down to the bottom of the blog, where there's a fanbox. Also - stay tuned, because sometime this week I will roll out my official website! I am so excited to present my portfolio in beautiful galleries, and I'm pleased that I will be able to offer you the clients password-protected viewing galleries with the ability to place your order right there! It's going to be fantastic!

I'm booking in October right now, and spots are filling up. Start thinking about those holiday photos! I also design cards if you want to think about that too. *wink :)

Have a great day!

Kelly
